UNSPOILT AND UNCHANGED

Loch Rannoch Highland Club lies on the traditional main route north to the west coast of Scotland, known famously as the Road to the Isles. However, major road construction in the 19th century has bypassed it leaving the area unspoiled and unchanged.

The Club consists of 85 attractive, pet friendly lodges all with conservatories or patios and stunning views across the loch to the majestic mountains of Glencoe.

The village of Kinloch Rannoch is a good place from which to start exploring the Clan Trail. A series of interesting story boards have been placed at accessible points around the loch shore that tell the fascinating tales of clans prominent in the district before the 19th and 20th centuries. There is also a Crannog (artificial island) near the far west of the loch which was used in the 18th century as a base for outlawed members of the MacGregor Clan.

The surrounding Rannoch area offers excellent walking, from woodland paths in Rannoch Forest and quiet loch side rambles to the dramatic wild peaks and cross country routes of the Great Moor of Rannoch.

A beautiful place We have fallen hopelessly in love with Scotland and Rannoch in particular. I have been visiting the highland club on and off for over 22 years and it has never disappointed but we all agreed it needed a little upgrading here and there on our previous visit in 2018. We finally took over a share in a lodge last year, couldn’t stay due to covid but came this year to find the pool and spa area new and improved, the food in the Larder and The Brownie Bar excellent with better choices and the general organisation from the club office super efficient and helpful. This stay we had a fabulous week of exploring Rannoch Moor, the Black Woods, The Hermitage woods and Falls, Bruar Falls and the classy House of Bruar shopping area, and Pitlochry, the nearest town. Then after a busy day sightseeing, sipping excellent whiskies in front of the fire at the Loch Rannoch Hotel, part of the Highland Club. Our lodge is Lochside, perfect for a quick walk into Kinloch Rannoch to the country store or the lovely cafe and gallery and waterfall. The lodges higher up have even more astounding views, we were in Otter last time and one of the studios before that. Perfect, I wish we were staying longer.

A restful week off We stayed at one of the apartments at Loch Rannoch Highland Club. We were there for a quiet week off. The view from the apartment was excellent, every morning it was a nice surprise to enter the living room and see the lake and the colourful hills. There were many opportunities nearby for a short or a medium sized hike- we didn't even need to drive for some of them. The apartment was clean and had more than everything we needed in the kitchen, the beds were comfortable. We just had to do our grocery shopping. One problem was that the wifi did not support video calls and wasn't very reliable. I had to work for 2 days and use my phone data. We also were charged for electricity (heating mainly) during our stay, which wasn't much but I don't remember reading about this in the property description. Overall it was a very pleasant stay, thanks for having us!

Excellent time away Myself and my family come to the Kinloch Rannoch Highland Club lodges every year and didn’t get a chance during lockdown. This year was our first time back since lockdown and it did not disappoint. The lodges are in an excellent location right on the loch, waking up to these views does not get old, the lodge myself and my partner stayed in is great for a couple or a small family of 4 there is also bigger lodges for bigger parties. We love going to the House of Bruar which is just a short car journey from the lodges for some lunch and shopping! The falls of Bruar is a great walk and taking in the beautiful views! It is a must when you go to visit. There is so much to see we love going morning walks and taking in the beautiful scenery and wild life. Some pictures below show just how beautiful this place is. I can’t recommend it enough!

Fantastic stay in Osprey Lodge Our first stay in Osprey and it is a super Lodge: well fitted, modern, comfortable and a great view over Loch Rannoch from the large Conservatory. It was very clean and smelt fresh - most reassuring in these Covid times. Look out for the 'secret drawer' in the kitchen which has cooking utensils in it! We were also missing glass tureens for microwaving vegetables, but a call to Housekeeping resulted in the delivery of one in 5 minutes - fantastic service! The mattresses and pillows were so comfy! In fact we ordered ourselves some new pillows shortly after arriving home, because we'd become so used to the ones in Osprey. Parking is next to the Lodge which makes loading and unloading luggage easy too. It was also good to be greeted on arrival by the General Manager as well as very pleasant and helpful staff in the Office. I've read reviews complaining about WIFI, but we found it to be quick and a very good connection. It's also good to have the Loch Rannoch Hotel nearby and open now for drinks and meals - we also saw several families walking by who'd been using the swimming pool. We may even be tempted to use their Spa facilities when we visit next time. Of course the scenery and walks are fantastic too - we cannot wait to return and highly recommend the Loch Rannoch Highland Club.

Amazing views Booked a 3 day break here on our way to Skye and wished we had booked for longer [ Skye was beautiful but very full of tourists ] the scenery is just stunning, our lodge was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything we could possibly want with a big conservatory and amazing views straight over Loch Rannoch, we were even lucky enough to see a Red Squirrel scampering about in the trees behind our lodge, the village shop had all we needed the only slight disappointment was the hotel next door were not serving food to non residents the night we went in due to staff shortages, we will certainly be back again

Views to die for First stay here , 7 nights in total . My highland lodge (43 Eagle) is set slightly higher then the Hotel giving spectacular views of Loch Rannoch . My lodge , I’ll call it mine as it really felt mine is very spacious designed as a upside down cake with bedrooms downstairs and living room /kitchen/ balcony above . Kitchen fully fitted with all the pots and pans you’ll need as well as blenders , toasters etc. All of them used as staff shortages meant Hotel could not accommodate outside guests for dining . Plenty of walks locally , as well as fishing , cycling and very scenic drive to Train Station. Wifi is weak but usable and plenty of stations pre tuned . You won’t need TV though , just look out from the balcony . All you need is there , water , mountains , green trees , wild life. Can’t wait to return
